Deborah Rhea Seehorn was conceived in Norfolk, Virginia on May 12 on the 12th of May, 1972. Her mother was an executive assistant in the United States Navy, and her father was an agent with the Naval Investigative Service. She was raised by a family who moved often, which included the cities of Washington, D.C., Arizona and Japan. She followed in the footsteps of her father and grandfather by studying painting, architecture, and drawing from a young age. As she continued to pursue her love of the visual arts, she also discovered a passion for acting. She was also introduced to modern theatre in college. She earned her degree from George Mason University in 1994 with a BA in Studio Art. While in college, Seehorn was looking to get into theater, after the encouragement of her acting teacher. She tried to get noticed by working in various ancillary jobs in D.C. theater. When she did manage to secure major roles in local theater productions and had to do odd jobs to stay afloat and make ends meet, she continued to work in the field of film as an instructional filmmaker. In the next few years, she was able to land roles on television productions. She was often seen in roles that were "very wry and sarcastic" like her role model Bea Arthur. However, most of these roles were short-run series that ended after two or three seasons. Seehorn was the lead in Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff series. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is the love interest for the main character, Jimmy McGill/Saul.
