Rosamund Pike
Born in London
in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actress. She was the sole child to a
classical violinist mom Caroline (Friend) as well as an opera singer father
Julian Pike. Her childhood was spent traveling throughout Europe due to the
work of her parents. Pike was born in Bristol and went to Badminton School. She
then began acting in the National Youth Theatre. Pike was only 23 when she
appeared in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was
then spotted by an agent and was signed. Although her first film was a
big-budget action film, her film performance was mostly in smaller independent
films , such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). The Libertine
won her the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film
Awards for this film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her first feature
film. After a brief stint in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006), she
returned to film with outstanding performances in three of the smaller films.
She also appeared in Johnny English Reborn (2011) and in the sci-fi film Wrath
of the Titans (2012). She was back in action films with her female lead in the
film Jack Reacher (2012). Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
