Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). She began her career in the field at four by performing voice overs and commercials. The first film she made was Private Parts (1997). After that, she starred in The Object of My Affection (1998) followed by time on Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" who was a child that was found in the park, and cared for by Josie and Gary. Sarah would continue to work alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") at least twice: Falcone (2000) and Law & Order (1990) in addition to Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast in Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the young Audrey Hepburns. The following year, she was cast on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), starring Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Gould’s Secret ((2000) as well as Falcone ((2000)). Alongside her film and television work, Sarah studied voice, ballet, jazz, hip-hop and tap Theatre Dance, and performed with her tap and Theatre dance classes at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A born in New York and raised there, Sarah spent much of her time in television, film, and voice-overs for radio commercials in addition to traveling with her father Edward James Hyland, and working at different theaters across the United States. She was educated at home by her mother up to 2nd grade. After that, she attended Public School. In the 6th grade she was accepted to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) in which she remained until 2008 when she graduated. Sarah was 18 when she relocated to Los Angeles. She landed on a plane named "My American Family" within two weeks. The pilot's name was later changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was selected). Sarah is currently the "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest of the Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for the Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
