Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) who was a national director at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright, a
pharmacist executive. She was raised in San Diego, California. She began her
career as a model aged 14 and also worked in Paris as well as Japan. After
graduating from high school, she decided to become an actor. She was cast in
the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated three times
for a Daytime Emmy. Dane Witherspoon was her fellow cast member, and she got
married to him in 1986. Then, she appeared on The Princess Bride (1987) in the
title role. After she left the cast of Santa Barbara, she got the starring role
in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. She became acquainted with Sean Penn in
1990 while she was appearing in State of Grace (1990). They had their daughter
Dylan Frances with him and an infant son named Hopper Jack. Robin returned to
Hollywood after a break with one of her most famous parts: Tara in The Playboys
(1992). She was stunning and flawless. In the following film, she appeared Toys
(1992) together with Robin Williams. She gave an entertaining performance.
Wright appeared in 1994's blockbuster success Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom
Hanks. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in recognition of her performance
as Jenny. She was offered a minor part in The Crossing Guard (1995) with Jack
Nicholson. After refusing 14 roles, she played the title character in MGM/UA's
Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman
and Stockard Channing. She then starred in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997) together
with William Hurt.
