Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born September 5, 1973) is an American actress and
activist. Her film debut was a short role in the comedy Encino Man (1992),
McGowan was recognized for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation
(1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut
Performance. Her breakthrough came in the horror film Scream (1996) which later
was the lead in the film Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and
Jawbreaker (1999). In the early 2000s, McGowan became known to the public via
her role as Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed
(2001-2006). Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse
(2006) that in which she received the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well as
the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. Her debut album, Planet 9, was released
in the year of 2018. The album was followed up by a re-release of Planet 9 in
2020. In 2017 Time acknowledged McGowan as one of the Silence Breakers, the
magazine's Person of the Year, for her stance on sexual harassment and assault,
specifically in regard to the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases as well as
the Me Too movement. In the year 2018, she released Brave an autobiography, and
appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
