Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was known as a TV host, former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and in the past, she taught cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and bubbly persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides concise easy-to-master techniques to the home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious restaurants in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy, and battled on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food at an early age. She furthered her interest in the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I was a huge Culinary Institute Of America student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." I was unable to learn enough, didn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy participating in Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian way of life and its culture and has made an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aims to enrich the lives of children facing obstacles. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador which promotes awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to share her passion for cooking and food, as well as to talk about her profession in culinary. Anne says during her career in the kitchen that she is incredibly fortunate to be able to share what's most important to her.
